The St. Regis Mauritius Island Discovery:

Golf Courses

There are several golf clubs in the area including 18-hole courses at the Heritage Golf Club and Tamarina Golf Club.

Chamarel Natural Site

A geological wonder, the ‘Seven Coloured Earth’ of Chamarel depicts dunes with seven unique colors conglomerating in one place. The Waterfall of Chamarel is another major attraction here. Three distinct streams falling down freely from a height of 100 metres down to the gorge is a wonderful sight.

Black River Gorges

The Black River Gorges National Park is located on the West coast of Mauritius. It is a beautiful park with tropical nature and rivers flowing through it. A nice place to go for a hike, picnic or for a refreshing swim in the river.

Casela Nature & Leisure Park

The Casela Nature & Leisure Park is located in the Western part of Mauritius between Flic en Flac and Tamarin. The park covers an area of about 14 ha. In the park you can see around 1500 birds of over 150 species and a variety of animals such as the impressive giant turtles and various mammals such as lions and monkeys.

Bois Cheri Tea Factory

This 250-hectare tea factory and museum is located about 12km north of Rivière des Anguilles amid an endless acreage of cane. Visitors can take an hour-long tour of the tea-processing facility, which ends with a stop at a small exhibition space annotating the island's tea history through machines and photos. The best part of the visit is undoubtedly the sampling session at the end.

L'Aventure du Sucre - Sugar Factory Museum

The original factory was founded in 1797 and only ceased working in 1999, telling not only the story of sugar in great detail, but also covers the history of Mauritius, slavery and the rum trade. At the end of the visit you can taste some of the 15 different varieties of unrefined sugar, two of which were invented in Mauritius.

Rhumerie de Chamarel

Set among the vast hillside plantations of Chamarel, the Rhumerie de Chamarel is a working distillery that doubles as a museum showcasing the rum-making process.

Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden

Located near the Pamplemousses village in the North East of the island, the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Garden was built in memory of the freedom fighters of Mauritius. The giant Victoria Amazonica Water Lilies and other species of palm trees are a major source of attraction here.
