Suite - we had an oceanfront suite. The room, bath room and balcony was very spacious. It was refreshing to have a good size balcony with descent lounge furniture. The room was very clean. No noise through from surrounding rooms. Blackout curtains. Lovely toiletries.
Beach and boathouse - Spotless. Lovely, attentive service from the bar staff. Towels will be put down for you as soon as you approach the sun lounges. They have fitted services bells on the umbrellas so you don't have to get up to go to the bar! They also bring you a bottle of water each as they set your towels out. I read some reviews that they charge for water which isn't the case for the the bottles on the beach.
The paddle boards, kayaks etc are there to just sign out for as long as you want. If you want to go snorkelling you have to go with the 10:30am trip which is available each day. If you want to just go of the beach in your own time then I'd recommend taking your own mask.
We were full board. We ate at each restaurant in the evening and the boathouse each day for lunch, it is the only option available for lunch.
The food was fantastic every meal. It was lovely to be able to go somewhere different each night and the change in decor between the Manoir - boathouse and floating market was good. There was no feeling of being in the same resort all the time if that make sense.
Something that started to bother us slighting is that they don't change the lunch menu daily or weekly so by the end of the week we either order the same or picked something they we wouldn't normally choose. Again, it was always great but it started to feel limited towards the end of the week.
The other issue we found with the restaurants is that there were a lot of families and there wasn't much atmosphere by 8pm. We also found they would tell us that they couldn't accommodate before 9pm (or 6:30pm) but when we would go at 8:30pm for a drink first there were plenty of tables.
The last night we had a 'fish market' buffet in the boat house grill. It was great, they had a table of raw fish which you selected as much as you like from and it is cooked while you eat the starter options on the buffet. We weren't told about this and only found out as we had planned to each there anyway. I will definitely ask on check-in about this next time so we can plan around it.
Our least favourite restaurant was the Indian restaurant. The food was great but the decor, lighting and atmosphere wasn't very nice in our opinion, very old fashioned compared to the rest of the resort.
I've seen a few comments about slow service. The service for us in all occasions was exceptional, they are very aware of your needs. We weren't waiting too long for anything. The staff overall were very friendly and welcoming to the resort but also to Mauritius which was refreshing.
Breakfast was a highlight! Full english buffet, an egg table to have any eggs you want, smoothly table to have anything fruit/veg of your choice. Delicious waffle/pankcake station then the usual fruit, bread and pastries you'd expect. Fresh coffee which were perfect (cappuccino anyway!)
The price of extra's such as drinks, boat trips or outings were reasonably priced. The concierge will sort anything for you. Same with the butlers, laundry service all very helpful and quick.
Overall we had a fantastic time, really felt at home and comfortable around the resort. Very relaxing with excellent service throughout.
Can recommend this hotel highly and will be returning next year.
